Ryegrass is a fast-germinating grass (4-8 days at temperatures of 15°C-24°C), establishes quickly in the soil (3-4 weeks), has high wear tolerance, a fine texture, and a green color. Due to these qualities, it is the preferred variety for overseeding.

Mow the existing lawn relatively low and remove clippings and leaves.
Lightly aerate the soil using a rake to improve seed-to-soil contact.
Spread the seeds evenly across the area. It is recommended to spread in two directions for uniform coverage.
You can cover the seeds with a very thin layer of soil or compost and tamp down gently.
Water gently immediately after sowing.
Keep the soil continuously moist until germination and grass establishment, but avoid overwatering.
After the grass has established, gradually reduce the frequency of watering.

Important Guidelines

It is recommended to overseed at the beginning of the cold season, when temperatures are mild. Do not allow the seeded area to dry out during the germination period. It is advisable to avoid heavy foot traffic on the lawn until the new grass is well established.
